Who's Leon Bakst?
The more I've read about #Modigliani since the announcement of the exhibit at the #TateModern in November, the more I've come to realize he came into contact with and painted portraits of other artists who were having success at that time. When he lived, Modigli's paintings rarely sold.
This collection is based on the work of Russian costumer/set designer Leon Baskt who I'd never heard of until I saw the painting Modigli did of him which you can also see.
